The Second Sex written by asimone de Beauvoir, Recommended by a fine young gentleman named Paul, explores and analyzes the Westrrn notion of “woman” and the power of sexuality. Risky subject to write about and publish in 1949 but, much like her writing style, Beauvoir boldly weaves together history, biology, philosophy to open the reader’s eyes to hopefully revise the way women think about themselves. Her writing is powerful, in your face, and most certainly influential.
